Program: Argentine songs
The aristocratic, direct and mainly remarkable Argentine tenor, José Cura, has come back to us for two decades, but this time he comes with a show that is not only enthralling to opera lovers, but also reaches the heart of the worshipers of Latin music. In the first part of the concert – traditionally – the Cziffra Festival prizes will be given to the artists.
As a singer in his fifties who was originally not a singer, but a conductor and composer, has been the celebrated star of opera stages could – perhaps because of his athletic past – deny a couple of years. His exceptionally suggestive roles are not only counted in numerous – including more award-winning – recordings, but over a dozen of operafilms. In this exceptional concert, Cura will not sing opera songs, but songs from his home country, and János Balázs will be his partner by the piano.
