In addition to our own choices, our encounters and relationships with our fellow human beings determine our lives, constantly shaping our personalities and guiding us towards our destiny. György Cziffra faced a series of trials and tribulations in order to fulfil his prodigious talent. And although the events of his life are impressive in themselves, if we look at them with a little more attention, it becomes clear that it was his relationships, his important encounters, his close and distant friends who were the guides and helpers of his journey.

János Balázs, one of the most thoughtful cultivators of Cziffra’s legacy, recalls the important moments of this legendary fate with the help of Junior Prima Award-winning actress Petra Gubik. Prose and music, classical and light music combine to conjure up the most turbulent period in history, the atmosphere of old pubs in Pest, intimate scenes and instructive turns of events that are not only worth remembering: they are also worth learning from.
