Piano and two-piano works by Liszt, Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Schubert and Sarasate

Some of the finest Hungarian performers will pay tribute to Kálmán Dráfi with compositions by some of the greatest pianists in the history of music at a concert to mark the 70th anniversary of his birth. The Liszt Ferenc Prize-winning and distinguished artist, who has taught at the Liszt Academy since 1977, will be celebrated with performers such as János Balázs, Liszt and Kossuth Prize-winning pianist; Gábor Farkas, Liszt Prize-winning pianist and head of the Department of Keyboard and Accordion Instruments at the Liszt Academy; Valentin Magyar, Junior Prima Prize-winning pianist; Barnabás Kelemen, Liszt and Kossuth Prize-winning violinist; and Miklós Perényi, Liszt, Kossuth and Prima Primissima Prize-winning cellist and cellist. The Liszt, Chopin and Rachmaninoff works on the programme are all beloved pieces of chamber and piano music, never fading gems. Kálmán Dráfi’s students, colleagues and chamber musicians will pay tribute to him with chamber performances, recalling the diversity of his oeuvre and his artistic and teaching activities.
