Featuring: Petra Gubik, Erika Miklósa, János Balázs, István Pál Szalonna and Band
The Cziffra Festival is unique in that it not only brings us the most significant Hungarian representatives of each genre, but also encourages iconic figures of classical music, jazz, folk music, and gypsy music to discover each other’s musical worlds. This allows the audience to discover the often very distinctive connections between the different genres. On this evening, the audience will once again be treated to a unique festival production, as the current program of concerts entitled Worlds Collide will feature the almost iconic duo of Erika Miklósa and János Balázs, joined by Junior Prima Award winner Petra Gubik, with the trio complemented by authentic representative of Hungarian folk music, István Pál Szalonna and his band. So what connects them besides music? Probably the art of improvisation, the joy of living in the moment, which is the cornerstone not only of folk music and jazz, but also, to a certain extent, of classical music.
